John Warren comments: "Ten riders arrived at Union Hall to cool, breezy conditions. All riders finished. The fastest was Colin Campbell (OBC) in a time of 22:25, his first TT on this course. Celia McInnis (ABC) was the fastest female in a time of 28:04, her first TT on this course. Les Humphreys was the fastest from ABC in a time of 26:28."
Celia adds: Congratulations to Ian Austen for being the only person to post a season series improvement on this cool, windy night. The three first timers on this course were considerably slower than their best on the OBC 15km course. That last three-bump hill was particularly tough. If we compare today's ride with the person's best 15km results this year on any course, we see that the newbies did the worst compared with their OBC season's best. The three of us had cube-speed ratios of less than 80% for today's race compared to our 2013 OBC best 15km TT. As they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, so we'll see what happens next time!
Next 15k TT; meet at Union Hall, Tues., Sept. 10, at 6:00 pm. for a 6:30 pm start.
The next 40k TT is scheduled for Sun., Sept. 8, meet at Christian Academy (Franktown) parking lot at 7:45 am. For those intending to ride the 40k TT; please contact Les Humphreys @ 613-256-2498, or John Warren @ 613-256-3195 before noon Sat., Sept. 7.
The 2nd Tatlock Rd. cleanup has been changed to Wed. 18 Sept. and will take place from Union Hall at 6:00 pm. With enough volunteers it only takes 1 hour. Contact Bob Woods at 613-256-1874 if you can help out.
